HOOD GUEST CURATOR:
Fiona Leahy is the founder and Creative Director of her eponymous event design agency, Fiona Leahy Design. A former fashion stylist, Irish-born Leahy has spent the last 14 years travelling the world, staging seriously decadent events – from a party in the Doha desert for Damien Hirst to a seven day influencer event in Mexico for Aerin Lauder. Leahy’s boundless imagination and attention to detail are matched only by her passion for ‘matchimalism’: the layering of matching print on print which has become her signature event aesthetic.
HARVY SANTOS - IDA
"This hat is the millinery version of a party – a good time the moment you put it on. I love the bright raffia flowers and can picture myself in this, margarita in hand, wearing a swimsuit. Just looking at it puts me in a good mood!"
ADELE MILDRED - BIBI
"I adore the raffia pompom on this hat as well as its jaunty shape. I am a big fan of hats with ribboned ties: so practical for boat rides, open top car journeys and general gusts of wind! I would wear this hat with a pretty sundress and ballet flats."
AWON GOLDING - ASTER
"I would team this halo star with a long slinky black dress. The idea of a star radiating from one’s head is so wonderful. It reminds me of the Statue of Liberty and I would love to be the Statue of Liberty for an evening!"
The founders of HOOD, Adele Mildred and Gabrielle Djanogly, both trained milliners, share a desire to see traditional millinery thrive and an ambition to see the hat revived as part of every woman’s wardrobe. With access to archive and seasonal collections from London’s leading milliners and a sharp eye on trends, they curate a selection of hats, from the practical to the showstopping. All hats are made to order in a commitment to economically and ecologically sustainable fashion.
